Brandey started her career as a bather for PetSmart in 2005. She attended their grooming academy for 4 weeks in January of 2006 and spent another 8 weeks in field practice with her manager.  She became a full time stylist for the company in April 2006.

After spending a few years as one of the salon's top stylists, she was promoted to Salon Manager. She worked hard to improve the salon's reputation in town and the Traverse City PetSmart grooming salon became one of the top in the district under her. She was rewarded for her efforts with additional training to become a grooming instructor for the company. She trained new stylists from all over Michigan for PetSmart.

After a year though, Brandey decided she didn't agree with the mindset of the company in promoting profit over quality and decided to branch out on her own. She risked everything, even having a six month old son and a 2 year old son she had to take to work with her, and started Doggie Stylez Grooming with one of her students, Heather King-Bagley.

After being open a year the two took on a grooming Intern, Erin. After her internship, they hired her permanently as a part time stylist.

Having been open four years now, Brandey has added two full time stylists, Kelsey and Candace, to the salon. Heather has retired from grooming, but Brandey continues to forge forward in her dream to provide her customers with a personable and memorable grooming experience. She is a registered groomer with the National Dog Grooming Association of America (NDGAA) and also has experience grooming felines. She enjoys grooming golden retrievers, labradors, yorkies, Shih Tzus and poodles most of all.

When she isn't busy in the grooming salon, Brandey enjoys hiking, camping, riding her motorcycle and spending time with family including her two young sons and her own black lab, Liberty.

At the moment, Brandey isn't accepting much in the way of new clients. If it is an absolute must, she will try to fit you into her schedule but she usually books at least a week in advance.
